The Douglas County Board of Commissioners and our Douglas County Emergency Management have been working together with the Oregon Department of Emergency Management actively focused on damage assessment and helping property owners and businesses accurately assess ALL damage to help open potential assistance pathways for our residents and businesses.
It is especially important for people to report if their homes or properties experienced extensive damage like:
โข Completely flooded basements
โข Water above 18 inches
โข Water above electrical outlets
โข Electrical damage โ water-soaked wiring or broken or frayed electrical wires
โข Structural damage โ loose or buckling floors, carpet, drywall, insulation, or roof
โข Damage of any kind to foundations
โข Damaged appliances, including heating, air conditioning, water heaters or refrigerators
โข Damaged furniture, clothing or bedding
โข Growth of mold and mildew
โข Damage to septic and well water systems
โข Loss of buildings or structures
โข Livestock, pet or crop loss
We do not want you to miss the opportunity to tell us your damage story. The more information and reporting we have, the better chance we have of getting additional support, funding and resources from the state and federal government.
We need all types of damage reported so we can tell the story of the impact to Douglas County and our communities!
If you have any questions or need additional resources, please call 2-1-1.
Sincerely,
Douglas County Commissioners
Tim Freeman, Tom Kress and Chirs Boice
Douglas County Emergency Manager
