For all of my friends and family who are on Medicare.:

The partial government shutdown that took place the end of January through early February has affected Medicare Part B payment processing in that when payments were made they may not have been applied properly and Part B was cancelled for many people instead of continued. If you have lost part B for “non-payment” even though the payment was made resulting in your MAPD plan being terminated due to inactive Part B, you need to call the carrier’s Loss of Entitlement Department - every company has this department. This is not an issue with your carrier, it is an issue with Medicare. After you speak with your carrier, make sure you get a Reinstatement case number as this is proof of insurance until the policy reinstatement has been processed.

Please feel free to pass this on to your Medicare Family and Friends who may experience this issue.
