Today, I had the solemn and profound honor of delivering a death benefit of $100,000 to a bereaved brother who has recently suffered the grievous loss of his sibling at the tender age of 38. 2020 walks in it's last month, the holiday air is coming late, laughter and warm hugs are locked down within single household, even the Christmas songs that already floating around last year is chocked in the throat this year.....

But, when I looked around and I realised that 2020 isn't all too bad, it teaches people to slow down and shows the joy of spending time with families, it cultivates patience and instills faith.

There's light in front of the tunnel and there's hope.

I came across a sad yet beautiful poem and posted below. Hope you enjoy it as I did.

T’was a month before Christmas,
And all through the town,
People wore masks,
That covered their frown.

The frown had begun
Way back in the Spring,
When a global pandemic
Changed everything.

They called it corona,
But unlike the beer,
It didn’t bring good times,
It didn’t bring cheer.

Contagious and deadly,
This virus spread fast,
Like a wildfire that starts
When fueled by gas.

Airplanes were grounded,
Travel was banned.
Borders were closed
Across air, sea and land.

As the world entered lockdown
To flatten the curve,
The economy halted,
And folks lost their nerve.

From March to July
We rode the first wave,
People stayed home,
They tried to behave.

When summer emerged
The lockdown was lifted.
But away from caution,
Many folks drifted.

Now it’s November
And cases are spiking,
Wave two has arrived,
Much to our disliking.

Frontline workers,
Doctors and nurses,
Try to save people,
From riding in hearses.

This virus is awful,
This COVID-19.
There isn’t a cure.
Too early for vaccine.

It’s true that this year
Has had sadness a plenty,
We’ll never forget
The year 2020.

And just ‘round the corner -
The holiday season,
But why be merry?
Is there even one reason?
To decorate the house
And put up the tree,
When no one will see it,
No-one but me.

But outside my window
The snow gently falls,
And I think to myself,
Let’s deck the halls!
So, I gather the ribbon,
The garland and bows,
As I play those old carols,
My happiness grows.

Christmas isn’t cancelled
And neither is hope.

If we lean on each other,
I know we can cope .

If you come this far, bless your heart, you've finished the poem. Let's all bright up the spirit and warm up the air: decorate your house as much as you can and turn up the volume of the holiday musics, show some love to the people around you, near you, next to you or far from you.

2020 is a sad year but let's finish it beautifully.

For most of us, home is one of our biggest asset. But, many of us do not have earthquake. either we are used to the fact that the California is prone to earthquakes as it lies on the San Andreas Fault. Also many of us have strong beliefe in the government assistance in catastrophic situation.

对于大部分的我们，家就是一生最大的财产。可是大部分的我们都沒有地震险，要不因为加州从来就地震如太阳出山，见怪不怪了，要不认为如果真正大灾难国家会出手相处。

Little as we know that the maximum grant for earthquake has grown from $25,000 in 2005 to $33,000 today if you're lucky. May be you'll get a couple of $1200 check like we do now in COVID-19. What worries us is the prediction of some huge earthquake for us Californians in the near future.
殊不知在大灾难时政府是不可能帮你把房子重建，顶多也就是象现在COVID-19一样一家发几張支票把饭摆在桌上而己。而坐落在San Andreas Fault，圣安德烈亚斯断裂带上的加州也预期着一些令人落泪的大地震。

Almost everyone of us have insurance on our car, computer, even cell phone, but, we don't have earthquake insurance on our biggest asset.

I've been in the financial and insurance industry ever since I was in college, I love working with people and do my best to bring smiles on their faces. But today, two phone calls brought smile on my face and tears to my eyes:

A 89 year old lady called me from Mission Viejo to thank me for the face masks that I sent her: "it was so precious and just on time. I only have one and it was given by a friend of mine. I'm very grateful that you thought of me, you're such a caring person...."

A 72 year old gentleman called me from PV and he said, "I got your personally delivered face masks, it's worth more than a million dollars. I have everything, including face masks. But what you did was more than wonderful. You said that you would take care of me when I first brought over my insurance and you did. I'll never change my insurance to anybody...."
