Our deputies are currently working to clear trees blocking roadways across the county while continuing to respond to all normal calls for service. We appreciate your patience as we work through storm-related impacts.

If your home has sustained damage, please call 911 so we can send someone out to assist you.

If you only need to report information for insurance or documentation purposes and do not need a deputy to respond in person, a call to 911 to give your information will be sufficient.

COUNTIES THROUGH 615 AM EDT...

At 518 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Morristown, moving northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Morristown, Rogersville, Bean Station, Russellville, Mosheim, Bulls
Gap, Baileyton, McCloud, Romeo, and Mooresburg.

Please excuse my absence on Friday, August 14th. I will not be available as I’m having surgery. Due to this, I will be working remote for the week of August 17-21. I am hoping to be cleared to drive shortly after this!!!!!!’ Thank you!

I appreciate your love and concern- as some of y’all know, I had to have 3 more biopsies done last Monday…….which makes 10 biopsies since October! I am scheduled for surgery next Friday and another in September. This will make 6 surgeries since December! I am still working, mostly remote, for now as I am hurting quite bad! We are hoping to have help in the office within the next few weeks! Thank you for your understanding, love, support and prayers!

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Eastern Jefferson County in east Tennessee... Northwestern Cocke County in east Tennessee... West central Greene County in east Tennessee... Central Grainger County in east Tennessee... Hamblen County in east Tennessee...

* Until 1030 AM EDT.

* At 944 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Rutledge, moving southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Morristown, Jefferson City, Dandridge, Rutledge, Bean Station, White Pine, Baneberry, Russellville, Mosheim, and Bulls Gap.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 in Tennessee between mile markers 418 and 428. Interstate 81 in Tennessee between mile markers 1 and 23.
