We are excited to announce the newest addition to our Southeast team, Carolyn Kapitan, who joins us as Quality Control Manager supporting our Florida production operations. In this role, Carolyn will oversee quality assurance and quality control processes, support operational consistency and continuous improvement, and partner with title production professionals to promote accuracy, efficiency, and service excellence. Her extensive experience in Florida title examination, employee development, quality assurance, and process improvement make her a valuable addition to our team.

Prior to joining CATIC, Carolyn most recently served as Branch Education Manager with a national Title Insurance Company, where she led a title examiner-focused education department supporting examiners and other production employees across multiple locations. In this role, she managed a team of trainers, developed onboarding and professional development programs, partnered with business leaders to identify skill gaps, and aligned learning strategies with production priorities and underwriting requirements.

Carolyn also brings instructional design experience from her work with Applied Learning Systems, where she developed facilitator guides, participant manuals, job aids, playbooks, and other performance-support materials. She also delivered train-the-trainer programs and conducted training needs assessments to create learning solutions aligned with organizational objectives.

Carolyn earned a Master of Science in Instructional Development and Technology from St. Cloud State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Purchase College, State University of New York. She also holds an Instructional Design Certificate from The eLearning Designer’s Academy and an ALeSys Certified Learning Manager credential.

We are excited to announce the newest addition to our Florida CATIC Business Development team, James Netska, who joins us as an Agency Advisor. In this role, James will focus on building and strengthening agent relationships, identifying new business development opportunities, supporting sales and service initiatives, and helping expand CATIC's presence throughout the Florida market. His background in B2B sales, consultative client service, business development, and prior experience with CATIC make him a valuable addition to our team.

Prior to joining CATIC, James most recently served as a Business Sales Executive, Fiber with AT&T Business, where he managed dedicated and shared fiber internet solutions for small and mid-sized businesses across Southeast Florida territory. In this role, he used a consultative sales approach to deliver customized network infrastructure solutions, developed new business through prospecting and referrals, and consistently exceeded monthly sales targets.

Previously, James served as a Business Sales Executive, Mobility with AT&T Business, where he managed B2B mobility accounts, built and maintained a strong prospect pipeline, and delivered tailored mobility solutions to meet customer-specific needs. He also worked as a Consultant with Thomas Howell Ferguson P.A. CPAs, supporting recovery projects, financial monitoring and reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and client service initiatives.

James also brings prior experience with CATIC, having served as an Audit Intern, where he assisted with audits of escrow, IOLTA, and reconciliation reports, supported audit planning, documented audit procedures, and monitored Florida laws and regulations related to client and agent compliance.

On Friday, August 7th, CATIC was honored to support the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity Summer Internship Program Mock Trial held at Shipman & Goodwin, LLP in Hartford and witness the talent, preparation, and professionalism of the next generation of legal advocates.

Congratulations to Christopher Pineda and Laiba Khan, who delivered outstanding performances throughout the competition. We are pleased to welcome Patti Spisak to our Agency Support team as an Agency Relationship Manager. In this role, Patti will support agency relationships, strengthen service and communication with agents, assist with agency support initiatives, and help ensure agency-related needs are handled efficiently. Her experience in title policy production, training, customer service, workflow management, and relationship building will be a strong asset to the team.

Before joining CATIC, Patti most recently worked as a Policy Analyst with Policy Pros, producing and distributing title policies in Qualia for large multi-state title companies, reviewing recorded documents for accuracy and compliance, and preparing reports on production activity.

Patti also brings experience from Geauga County Job and Family Services, where she served as a Training Officer. In that role, she trained new hires and promoted employees, delivered ongoing Medicaid policy and eligibility system training, reviewed department procedures, monitored workflows, helped supervisors identify training needs, and developed and maintained training materials. Earlier in her career, she served as an Income Eligibility Referral Specialist II, managing a caseload, reviewing eligibility information, documenting cases, and referring clients to outside agencies for additional support.

She also has mortgage and account management experience from Novastar Mortgage, Inc., where she served as an Account Manager and primary contact for mortgage brokers. In that role, she helped maintain business relationships, tracked loan documentation, condition clearances, pricing, and closings, and reviewed income, mortgage history, and preliminary title information.

Patti earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in German culture and language from Kent State University.

We are pleased to announce the newest addition to our New England team, Eileen O'Shaughnessy, who joins us as VP, Managing Counsel in our Rhode Island office. In this role, Eileen will lead CATIC’s Rhode Island team and will provide underwriting and educational support for our Rhode Island agents.

Eileen’s background makes her a valuable resource for our agents. She possesses significant legal and management knowledge from prior roles with other Rhode Island and Connecticut firms, including her own sole practice. In these roles, she has managed title curative matters, real estate closings and title matters, judicial and non-judicial foreclosures, collections, bankruptcies, and evictions.

Immediately prior to joining CATIC, Eileen was State Underwriting Counsel for a national title insurance company in Rhode Island. In that role, she advised and educated title insurance agents on real estate transactions and title insurance processes, determined insurability of titles, and reviewed titles for preparation of title commitments and policies for residential and commercial transactions.

Eileen earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Connecticut. She is admitted to the Rhode Island Bar and the Connecticut Bar. She is also a member of the RI Bar Association, RI Bar Association Title Standards Committee, and the RI Bar Association Volunteer Lawyer Program.

We are excited to announce the newest addition to our Florida Operations team, Marie Potopsingh, who joins us as Title Counsel supporting our Florida region. In this role, Marie will provide underwriting and title support to our agents, assist with complex title issues and curative matters, and serve as a legal resource on real estate and title insurance transactions. Her strong background in title curative litigation, claims-related matters, title underwriting, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance makes her a valuable addition to our team.

Prior to joining CATIC, Marie served as Underwriting Counsel with a national underwriter, where she advised agents and examiners on underwriting requirements, risk analysis, and real estate and title insurance transactions. In that role, she managed and mitigated elevated risk for agents and underwriters, approved large-dollar and high-risk transactions in accordance with underwriting guidelines, developed and delivered presentations on legal and title issues, and cultivated key customer relationships.

Marie also brings extensive litigation and title curative experience, having held Senior Litigation Counsel roles with several law firms. Throughout her career she developed curative strategies, conducted comprehensive reviews of title examinations and searches, worked with claims counsel, evaluated competing liens and judgments, and managed all phases of real property litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from Valdosta State University in Georgia, and a Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, in Florida. Marie is licensed to practice law by the Florida Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, and is admitted to the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida. She is also a member of The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, and the Broward Attorney’s Real Estate Council.

We are excited to announce the newest addition to our Connecticut sales team, Christopher (Chris) Stanio, who joins us as an Agency Advisor. Chris will be working with and supporting our Fairfield County agents. In this role, Chris will help strengthen relationships with agents, support sales, and service initiatives, and contribute to growth opportunities throughout the Connecticut market. His client-facing experience, relationship-first approach, and strong background in communication, follow-through, and cross-functional coordination make him a valuable addition to our team.

Prior to joining CATIC, Chris worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Most recently, he served as a Manager in Financial Due Diligence, where he managed day-to-day relationships with private equity sponsors, CFOs, bankers, and deal teams, led kickoff calls and executive readouts, coordinated internal teams, and supported client service delivery in fast-paced transaction environments. Earlier in his career, Chris supported financial statement audit engagements by managing client communications, coordinating information requests, evaluating key controls and business risks, and presenting findings to client personnel.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Data Analytics and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
