With over thirty years’ experience, Mary has developed the reputation as a trusted partner to business owners and department leaders within regulated real estate-related industries. Prior to joining the title industry, Mary was general counsel for a division of a global specialty finance company, where, among other achievements, her team handled the securitization of a $141M portfolio of tax liens—the first in the nation.

Combining this deep legal expertise with her underwriting role, Mary delivers timely, solution-oriented, and knowledgeable guidance, helping real estate professionals, attorneys, and lenders navigate complex title issues efficiently. We are excited to announce the newest addition to our team, Rhonda Duddy, who joins us as Title Counsel, supporting our Massachusetts and New Hampshire operations. In this role, Rhonda will provide underwriting guidance and legal support on residential and commercial real estate transactions, advise agents and attorneys on complex title matters, and support risk analysis and compliance across the region.

Rhonda is a licensed attorney admitted in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, bringing extensive experience in title insurance underwriting and real estate law. Most recently, she served as Underwriting Counsel with a national underwriter, where she provided legal guidance on title issues, developed risk-mitigation solutions, and delivered training programs for agents and attorneys. Prior to that, Rhonda held roles as a Lead Conveyancing Attorney and Sole Practitioner, managing high-volume real estate transactions and resolving complex title and closing matters. She has also served as an adjunct instructor, teaching real estate law to paralegal students.

Yesterday, our President & CEO, Jim Czapiga, participated in a panel at NS3 called "Aligned in Action." The panel offered a well-rounded view of the trends, risks and priorities shaping the industry right now. Jim and the other panelists shared concrete examples of what strong partnerships look like in today’s market, giving attendees a clear lens to evaluate and strengthen their own approach.

Other panelists included Jenny Martin (Regional Vice President, National Agency, First American Title Insurance Company), Steve Black (Chief Operating Officer and President, Westcor Land Title Insurance Company), Scott Gillen (Senior Vice President, National Agents, Stewart).

Last week, CATIC representatives were down in Washington D.C. for ALTA Advocacy Summit 2026. This is an essential annual event for us as it sets the tone of the title insurance industry’s advocacy efforts for the year.

The CATIC team was fortunate enough to have numerous in-person conversations with US representatives, senators, and their staffs from Georgia, Connecticut, Florida, and Tennessee in support of title agents and the vital role that title insurance plays in protecting US homeowners.

A huge thank you to our team, ALTA, and the other title professionals for their incredible efforts in D.C. to advocate for our industry!

Earlier this month, members of CATIC's Georgia team attended RPLI Connect 2026. We were proud to sponsor this great event as well as support Real Property Law Section - State Bar of Georgia.

During the event, Georgia real estate attorneys were treated to an informative and thought provoking presentation on the ethical use of AI by CATIC’s Kenneth Stroud and Zach Kammerdeiner, Esq. Thank you to all of the speakers and attendees for the opportunity to reconnect at the event and learn together.

Wednesday night was a special night for CATIC. We celebrated both CATIC's 60th anniversary and the agents that have been working with us since our inception. We had a wonderful time looking back at CATIC's history and catching up with longtime agents.
