Mayorga Coffee

Mayorga Coffee Latino-Owned Organic Specialty Coffee Company. We roast and sell coffee that is better for our farmers, for the planet, and for you. Join the movement!

We believe that the root cause of systemic poverty in Latin America is the manner in which agricultural products have been grown, financed, and traded since the 1800’s. Small farmers—usually in remote areas—have been affected the most because they have not had access to quality education, training, financing, or distributors that sell directly to retailers or consumers. We believe this to be inten

tional poverty that has been created by “middlemen” that have become accustomed to manipulating the supply chain in an effort to make money at the expense of hard-working farmers. The most frustrating part of this is that they’ve been using consumers’ hard-earned money to achieve this and usually by selling at prices that are unfair to consumers. We’re working to change this! We work directly with small coffee farmers and engage them as respected partners. We help them to grow diversified organic crops that protect their environment while creating additional income for them. We also believe that consumers need to have access to products that are good for them and are priced fairly. That is why we will always seek the most efficient way to source and sell our farmers’ products, eliminating all middlemen that don’t add value, and operating a business model that creates value for our customers. We’ve been working on this since 1997 and, to be honest, it hasn’t made us too many friends in the industry, which is a good sign. The end result is delicious, healthy, quality products that consumers can purchase at prices that are fair from the producers to the consumer.

Becoming a Junior roaster 😎

In this episode we had Junior roasters in the building learning their way through the facility and seeing the hard work their parents put in every day.

After learning to roast here I’ve gained to much appreciation for all the hard work everyone at Mayorga puts in every day to our coffee and it was super cool to see the kids feel that same excitement as well

If you want to continue seeing my journey through learning about our Organic Coffee business, follow along, se vienen cositas 🤞

Some words don't have a perfect translation. ☕️
"La sobremesa" is one of them — that moment after a meal when nobody rushes away from the table, the coffee comes out, and the conversation keeps going. Stories are shared, memories are made, and time slows down for a little while.

In many Latin American homes, some of the best conversations happen after the meal is over. What's your favorite sobremesa memory? ❤️

This is what the coffee community looks like. ☕️
Scenes from the producers' assembly at Capucas — a space where coffee farmers come together to share knowledge, discuss challenges, strengthen relationships, and continue building a stronger future for coffee together. These gatherings are an important part of sustaining long-term partnerships, supporting coffee-growing communities, and keeping traditions and innovation moving forward side by side.

Coffee has always been about people first. Stay with us for more moments from the origin. 🌱

Some things are bigger than coffee. ❤️

We were honored to be invited by Costco to participate in the Northeast Golf Tournament in support of **Children’s National Hospital**. Events like these are a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together around a meaningful cause.

Thank you to Costco and everyone involved for helping raise funds that support children, families, and the incredible healthcare professionals who care for them every day.

The early mornings don’t get easier 😭

Today I ( ) enjoyed the process of being able to help out in the roasting process of our cubano blend, while also slowing down and learning specifics that I didn’t know before.

Like who knew that you can lose up to 20% of weight from moisture depending on how dark you roast your coffee?

Taking these moments to learn while also appreciating the culture and hard work our team puts in every day has genuinely been incredible

Can’t wait to see what we’re roasting tomorrow 🤞

Before coffee is roasted, brewed, or packed — it gets checked.
One of the first quality control steps at our roastery is inspecting every coffee sack as it arrives, checking for signs of moisture, damage, contamination, or anything that could affect quality before the coffee moves forward.

This is part of how we protect quality from origin to cup. ☕️

Coffee has always crossed borders.
From the mountains where it’s grown to the communities that keep its culture alive, coffee carries stories, people, sacrifice, and pride with it everywhere it goes. In many ways, it’s an immigrant too.

As an immigrant-founded company, this story is personal to us. And because people bring it here, we carry Latin America with us in every bag, every delivery, every post, and everything we do to share it across America.
