The word is out---the Fed just raised the rates by .25% to continue to fight inflation.

This is good news as they were raising in much larger increments before today. The .25% move shows that they are slowing down in the rate increases and could stop raising soon.

The ten year treasury and mortgage market liked the news. The Ten year is currently down 4 basis points at 3.48% and according to MBS Highway:

both MBS and Treasuries are essentially back in line with pre-Fed levels or perhaps a hair weaker depending on the moment. Either way, the big, apparently nasty swan dive in MBS has been erased and 5.0 coupons are once again in positive territory.

Overall, the Fed raise was small and already built into the pricing. While the Fed is not done raising rates, they are going at a slower pace.
