Regarding homeowners' insurance, carriers continue to enhance and use more technology for underwriting purposes. They are looking for the most cost-effective ways to give them accurate data to underwrite the risk appropriately. One of the essential parts of the underwriting process is the inspections. For years, many insurance carriers have contracted with inspectors to visit the property and inspect the home and property from the outside. Carriers are now looking at using drones to replace in-person inspections. This has led to some controversy as people feel it is an invasion of privacy. Aurora contributed to a recent article in ABC News on the matter.

Insurance experts say homeowners should start getting used to this new way of home inspections.
