With insurance costs rising across the board, some of you may be wondering what you can do to get the best insurance quotes!
There's a few things you can do to make sure your quoting experience goes smoothly. These things also help your agent get you the best and most accurate pricing.
Sometimes, you'll need to provide some of these things just to get a quote at all!
Be sure to have:
- Your current declarations sheets: These help your agents review your current coverage and provide proof of prior to receive new quotes.
- Home, driver, and vehicle information: Agents will need to know basic home construction information such as the age of your home, square footage, finish-qualities and more. For auto quotes, agents will want to know who is residing in the home, who is driving, and what vehicles are in the home.
- Vehicle titles or registrations: Sometimes, agents will need to provide proof of ownership to get an auto insurance quote.
- Home inspections or appraisals: Some insurance carriers require updated inspection or appraisal documents in order to provide an accurate quote.
- Receipts for maintenance items and home updates: Install a new roof? Be sure to keep that receipt and have it ready for your agent. Many carriers will provide better rates or discounts for home upgrades and newer roofs.
- Don't forget to ask questions: If you have a specific concern or coverage question, be sure to ask your agent about it while they put together your quotes. Many times, coverages can vary between carriers, so it's important your agent knows what you're trying to protect against.
