Happy June Dairy Month! 🥛🐐

While cows may get most of the spotlight, we’re here to celebrate “the other” dairy animal — goats!

Dairy goats provide delicious milk, support farms and families, and bring a whole lot of personality to the dairy industry. This month, we’re raising a glass to the hardworking does, dedicated breeders, and everyone who knows that great dairy comes in more than one size.

We've been keeping busy across Lyon County! While the three schools -- George-Little Rock, West Lyon, and Central Lyon -- have been doing Siouxland Ag in the Classroom lessons at a slightly different pace than many of the SAITC schools, they have all finally finished the STEM challenge of building pig barns! This lesson is a blast for the 2nd and 4th graders🐖

🎉 A huge shoutout to Sioux Center, Orange City, and Le Mars Fareway stores for making our winter dairy lesson extra special! 🧈❄️

Thanks to their generous donation of heavy whipping cream and saltines, 2nd and 4th graders across Lyon, O’Brien, Plymouth, and Sioux counties got hands-on with dairy education—making and tasting their very own butter!

We’re proud to partner with Fareway and celebrate agriculture in the classroom. Learning never tasted so good!
