Winter Storm Fern Update

Winter Storm Fern is expected to move through our area over the next few days, bringing sleet, freezing rain, and the possibility of downed trees and power lines. Forecasts also show temperatures dipping into the single digits on Monday and Tuesday, which increases the risk of both property damage and dangerous conditions.

Your safety remains our top priority, and we encourage everyone to prepare and stay aware as this system approaches.

If You Experience Property Damage

If a tree or limb damages your home or other insured structures, make only temporary repairs—and only if you can do so safely. This may include covering openings with a tarp or blocking off an affected area. Avoid climbing ladders, walking on icy surfaces, or using chainsaws in freezing conditions. If possible, take photos or video of the damage for documentation.

Cold Weather Tips

With temperatures dropping so low, let faucets drip to help prevent frozen pipes. Opening cabinet doors around plumbing can also help warm air circulate. Be sure you know where your main water shutoff valve is located in case a pipe bursts.

We celebrate the life of Jimmy Galloway, the man who built Peoples First Insurance into the agency that it is today. Those who had the privilege of knowing him experienced firsthand his warmth, humility, and unwavering commitment to serving others.

Jimmy had a profound impact on our company, our industry, and the community he loved so deeply. Even at 95 years old, he still came into the office every day simply because he loved the people and the work.

We are forever grateful for his leadership, his kindness, and the example he set for all of us. As we remember his remarkable life, we remain committed to carrying forward his values of honor and integrity in everything that we do.

James Dalton “Jimmy” Galloway Jr. passed away peacefully at Westminster Towers, surrounded by the love of his family. He lived 95 full and meaningful years as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished member of the Rock Hill community.

June 26th is a very important day at Peoples First. It’s the day that we get to celebrate the birthday of our fearless leader for over 50 years, Mr. Jimmy Galloway!

Yesterday, we celebrated with a delicious lunch of Mr. Galloway’s favorite meal, Ebenezer Grill hot dogs and key lime pie.

Happy birthday, Mr. G! 🎉 🎂

If you have damage from today's storm, please take necessary steps to prevent more damage (such as tarps) as long as it’s safe to do so.

Document any damage (photos) and keep receipts for any purchases made to mitigate damage to your home and/or property.
