International Credit Union Day was created in 1948 to celebrate the spirit of the global credit union movement. We take this time to reflect on our industry's history, promote our achievements and recognize the hard work. We also get to celebrate the experience our members have as they entrust us with their financial lives.

This year's theme is: “Cooperative Finance: A Steady Signal in a Noisy World,” honoring the credit union's commitment to people over profit, its connection to the community.

Fall fun in Syracuse! 🍁

Saturday's North Syracuse Family Fest at Centerville Place and the North Syracuse Community Center attracted hundreds of people from all over the area. It was a shared event with the North Syracuse Fire Department's Annual Safety Day. The event featured food trucks, raffles, bounce houses, face painting and local vendors.

We enjoyed saying hello to our neighbors, talk about the great promotions we have going on (especially our Youth Accounts for families) and gave away Summit swag. We hope to see you at our next event!

Go Crunch! 🏒

The Syracuse Crunch opened their 33rd season on Saturday at the Upstate University Hospital Arena against the Belleville Senators.

The opening ceremony included local teachers who accompanied the team onto the ice during player introductions. We were there, too, to cheer on the Crunch and talk to fans about our exclusive Crunch Visa® Debit Card.

Serving Strength, Building Futures 🧡

The Annual Empowering Women Luncheon to support the programs of the YWCA of Rochester & Monroe County is always inspiring.

This year's event at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center, hosted by WHEC TV Deanna Dewberry, saw a record number of 1,500 attendees who enjoyed lunch and a "fireside chat" with tennis champion and entrepreneur, Venus Williams.

Dawn, The Summit's PR and Community Engagement Specialist, served as co-chair of this event, and The Summit was a table sponsor. Our group was on hand to hear Venus' journey and what motivates her as one of the most accomplished women in sports history.

Leaving the luncheon, we were walking taller, thinking bigger, and feeling deeply inspired. Let’s keep the momentum going!
