We had a great time last night at our first Quarterly Leaders Dinner of 2026!

Taking time outside the office to celebrate the dedication, leadership, and impact these individuals bring every day—for their clients and our community—was truly special.

We’re always striving to grow, improve, and reach the next goal, but celebrating the wins along the way matters just as much.

Congratulations to our Q1 leaders—here’s to an even stronger Q2!

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend my first Leadership Conference in Nashville.

In 2022, I had the privilege of launching an advisor study group alongside these two incredible women. Four years later, I’m grateful to be learning and growing with them in a leadership capacity.

I’m forever thankful for the support, resources, and opportunities Equitable has provided—and for the amazing people I’ve met along the way.

The best is yet to come.

Every year our Rochester Office holds a Chili Cook‑Off, and Miriam once again made sure everything went smoothly. Congrats to Diana (and the real secret ingredient, her girlfriend Christina) for taking first place this year. If you need good chili, she’s your go‑to!

“A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don’t necessarily want to go, but ought to be.” — Rosalynn Carter

A couple of years ago, I was given the opportunity to step into leadership. I was honored that my mentors saw that potential in me and trusted me to train and develop future advisors. At the same time, I loved being a financial advisor—I loved my clients, I loved my business partner, and I wasn’t sure if I was ready to step away from the day‑to‑day work that had shaped me.

One of my mentors used to say, “You’re either all in or all out. If you keep one foot in and one foot out, it’ll never work.” And they were right. So at the end of 2024, I chose to jump in headfirst. I knew some days might feel like drowning, but I also knew it was my turn to pay it forward.

Six years ago, someone took a chance on me—one that I may not have fully earned at the time—and that single conversation in my parents’ basement during COVID changed the entire trajectory of my life. Because of that chance, I now have the best career in the world and get to work alongside the very best people.

Now, I’m excited for the opportunity to give that same chance to others. Sometimes all it takes is for someone to believe in you when no one else does.

Together, we will push each other to become the best versions of ourselves, serve our clients with excellence, and help thousands of people take control of their financial future.

The best is yet to come.

This past weekend, some of the DeMay team took on a trail run here in Rochester, NY. I love to run, but I can say trail running is a different beast. I am not sure how many more trail runs I will be participating in, in the future, but enjoyed the experience with some awesome people.

Another week, another Body Fuel smoothie!

This week I am specifically grateful for family. Family is extremely important to me and has been since I was a young girl. I am blessed to have grown up with two loving & supporting parents who went above and beyond every single day, and a sister who I get to call my best friend.

Growing up, Hannah was there for every win, every learn, and everything in between. Although she is younger, she has and continues to challenge my mindset and make me view the world in a different light. When she decided to go to Albany for college, the opposite end of the thruway than where I went to school in Buffalo, I remember thinking, "How am I going to go weeks at a time without seeing Hannah?" 4 years later, multiple hour long thruway drives, and now we both have started our careers in Rochester, NY.

Although Hannah is mostly remote, she still does some traveling and will be in the Rochester office every now and then. Last week I got the privilege of her staying the night and being apart of my every Friday Body Fuel Tradition. As life gets busier, I often find I struggle to balance all the important things & people in my life. My Dad will call, I say I will call back, and then the day gets away from me and now its 9:00pm and I never actually returned the call. Hannah will text me, I will see it when I am on a meeting, then the meeting ends and its 5 hours later and I never answered the text message. Life is always going to be busy, but in my opinion, it is always important to make time for the special people in your life. A phone call, a text message, or even a morning smoothie, can take 5 seconds or 5 minutes. We all have an extra couple minutes to spare to let the people in our life know that they matter and we are thankful for them.

A mindset I always try to live my life by is, you never know what's going on behind closed doors. Even the people who are always smiling and seem to be loving life, could be struggling when no one is around. We only know as much as people allow us to know. So with that being said, take the time to return the phone call to your Dad, smile at the stranger in the grocery store, and never forget how those little acts that require minimal time, can go a far way and can be the event that turns someone's whole day around.

Cheers to the weekend! I have found it is almost impossible to be in a bad mood when it is Friday & I am starting my morning with a protein smoothie and Michaela.

With October ending on Monday, and two months left in 2022, I have been thinking about decision making and change more frequently than normal. I would say by nature, I am someone who struggles with change. I had always thought it was because of fear of the unknown, or the fear of what was to come with that given change, but after a conversation with my manager Kelly, I was able to see change in a different way. She said to me, "people aren't afraid of the unknown, people are afraid of leaving what they do know".

At work we have a book club where we read one book collectively and get together every two weeks to debrief the assigned chapters, thoughts, how it relates to our business, and also how it relates to our everyday personal lives. The book we just finished was Extreme Ownership, by Jocko Willink, which if you have not read yet, I would definitely consider it for your next book selection. In Chapter 11 he talks about the importance of being decisive, even in hard and stressful situations, because that is what will propel us forward and ultimately help us find the greatest success, whether it be as an individual or a leader. Personally, with fear of change I feel like I often struggle to be decisive and make decisions because what if I make the wrong decision? How will this decision affect the people surrounding me that are important in my life? This career has taught me that is not the right mindset to have. A quote I stumbled across this week describes this concept perfectly - "Be decisive. A wrong decision is generally less disastrous than indecision". Bernhard Langer

In 2023 I hope to make MORE HARD decisions. I hope to challenge myself and get comfortable being uncomfortable because even if I make the wrong decision, that is a lesson I can learn and grow from.

Happy Friday Everyone! We are already two full weeks through October. I am not sure what it is about this year specifically, but time seems to be flying by at a faster rate than normal. With less than 3 months in 2022, this weeks focus has been on creating and executing goals.

Last week we had our branch meeting where we spent some time discussing both the creation of goals and the implementation of goals. A study was done to show the difference between those who make goals and write them down & those who make goals but never put pen to paper. As I am sure many can guess, those who actually wrote down their goals were more likely to see those goals be achieved. Having our goals right in front of us everyday keeps them top of mind and has a greater deal of accountability.

There has been times I have struggled to communicate my goals to another person, or even to paper, because once communicated, they become more real. Real can sometimes be scary but it is only in the uncomfortable that we can really grow and find success. I hope everyone is able to challenge themselves these next couple weeks of 2022 to set goals, communicate those goals to the important people around them, and work everyday to be one step closer to achieving them.

"You should set goals beyond your reach so you always have something to live for"- Ted Turner
