Spreading Kindness, Building Community 🧡

Every year, the North Memorial FCU team joins credit union professionals across the country to give back on Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day. Now known as CU Kind Day, this special day is all about scattering kindness throughout our communities, and this year was no exception.

Our day began in New Hope at a Wingspan residential home, where we rolled up our sleeves to tackle landscaping projects. From trimming bushes and trees to spreading fresh mulch, we helped enhance the home's outdoor space while learning more about the important role residential group homes play in supporting individuals to live happy, fulfilling lives.

After a little team-building over lunch, we had the privilege of meeting Nicholas and Shacreya Lee, founders of The Brave Box. Their organization provides care packages and a supportive community for families navigating the challenges of having a child in the NICU.

Inspired by their mission, our team got right to work assembling Brave Boxes and donating handmade crocheted octopuses and tiny hats, lovingly crafted for the smallest of patients.

Days like these remind us that kindness comes in many forms: a helping hand, a listening ear, or a small gesture that can make a big difference.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share our time, talents, and hearts with these incredible organizations and the people they serve. Together, we can build stronger, more caring communities. 🧡

You know him as the amazing VP of Lending, always working hard to make life better for our members but last week at a charity event, Bud Heifort doubled as a GOLF PRO – getting a HOLE IN ONE!! Congrats Bud!
