After a stroke, the brain activates repair processes to heal damaged tissue. New research suggests glioma cells can take advantage of those same changes to grow and spread. Researchers identified changes in nearby brain cells that helped drive tumor progression, pointing to biological pathways that could become targets for future treatments.

Boss's Day is observed on or around October 16th in the United States. If it falls on a weekend, it is observed on the closest weekday.

National Boss Appreciation day has occurred on October 16th every year since 1958. Patricia Bays Haroski registered this national holiday with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to appreciate her father, who was also her boss. She was working as a secretary for State Farm Insurance Company in Deerfield, Illinois for her father, at the time and chose October 16th, which was her father's birthday. She felt that young people didn’t fully appreciate or understand the work, worry, and effort in their boss’s day. Boss Appreciation Day was supposed to improve relationships and encourage transparency between leadership and the workforce.

National Take Your Parents To Lunch Day is observed on the Wednesday of the second full week in October. This day provides an opportunity for students to invite their parents or guardians to join them for lunch at school. The goal is to strengthen the connection between parents and their children, while also promoting healthy eating habits.

On this day, students are encouraged to plan a special lunch for their parents or guardians, and schools often provide healthy options to promote good nutrition. This event also gives parents a chance to see what their child's school day is like, and to connect with their child's teachers and classmates.
