Iโve been working in Medicare for years, and this Annual Enrollment Period is going to be different.
Some years, my job is pretty simple. I answer a few questions, make a few recommendations, and most people end up with coverage that works as well as, or better than, what they had before.
The last couple of years have not felt that way.
More often, the conversation has been:
โYour premium is going up.โ
โThat benefit is going away.โ
โYou no longer qualify for that.โ
And while some parts of the country may have it much worse than we do here, this year is shaping up to be another difficult AEP.
If you have Medicare, please donโt try to figure this year out completely on your own.
There is simply more to review and more that can go wrong if you miss a change in your plan, drug coverage, provider network, premium, copay, or benefits.
Find an experienced local agent or broker who knows the plans, knows the insurance companies, and takes the time to understand your situation.
