As we celebrate our 5th anniversary with RBC this month, we are incredibly proud of the work this team has accomplished together. We've spent the last 5 years in many hours of client meetings, delivering and updating countless Wealth Plans, and navigating some interesting times in the markets together with our clients. Every year has strengthened our commitment to excellence and growing as a team. We've added a few new faces along the way, and are grateful for the resources, tools, and most of all the people at RBC that help us serve our clients in the best way possible.

A huge thank you to our clients for their continued trust and to this amazing group for making every day fun! Here's to many more!

We are thrilled to announce the addition of Heather Pritchard to the Meridian Group at RBC!

Heather joined The Meridian Group in March 2026 as a Client Associate. She brings more than eight years of C-Suite executive support experience in the health and wellness industry, along with 10 years in event planning. She provides high-level client and administrative support, helping manage the operational aspects of the practice from client onboarding through implementation. Heather is known for her organization and ability to support both leadership and clients. Originally from Alabama and a graduate of Troy University, Heather has called Roanoke home for the past 16 years.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. She has been married to her husband, Joe, for 15 years, and together they have two children, Stella and Grayson.

We are excited to welcome Heather to the team!

The Meridian Group is thrilled to have two summer interns on board this year, Tyrel Dobson and Kendall Joyce! Tyrel is a rising senior at VMI as an economic and business major, and is a member of the VMI football team. Kendall is a rising sophomore at Virginia Tech as a marketing management major and a member of the dance team - the HighTech's. They have both hit the ground running and have been tremendous assets for our team already! Thank you Tyrel and Kendall!

The Meridian Group has an exciting announcement to share – we are delighted to announce that Sam Oakey has joined our team as a Financial Advisor! Sam has spent the last several months studying for and passing his Series 7, Series 66, and health & life insurance exams and we are all excited for him to be joining our practice. Sam’s core roles on our team will be primarily focused on business development initiatives and strategic planning for our team.

Those of you who already know Sam will know that he brings a wealth of unique experience as a family business owner to the table and has generations of deep roots in the Roanoke Valley. Through his experience serving families during their time of greatest need, and through various leadership roles in the community, Sam is known as a caring listener and as an innovative business leader – qualities which we know will allow him to meaningfully serve Meridian’s clients in the many years to come. Sam has selflessly served the Roanoke Valley community with his tireless and positive spirit in countless non-profit and business community leadership roles. His unique perspective will be a tremendous asset to our team here at RBC Wealth Management and to our team’s clients. Welcome, Sam!

On this 80th anniversary of D-Day, we’d like to say thank you to every soldier who bravely stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944. We remember those especially from Bedford, VA which suffered the Nation’s highest known per capita D-Day loss, a somber distinction for this rural Virginia community. We thank you for your service.

The 80th commemoration ceremony at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford was special and memorable, and was attended by thousands of grateful Americans and Allies. The event highlighted the many personal stories of the brave soldiers from Bedford and beyond.
