June 15, 1963: 3 days after Medgar Evers was assassinated, his funeral is held at the Jackson, Mississippi Masonic Temple.

Mourned nationally, over 4,000 people attended his funeral including Roy Wilkins (NAACP), and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

Evers was buried on June 19th in Arlington National Cemetery, where he received full military honors.
