🍼💙 Molina Healthcare of Mississippi was proud to be part of Sharing Health Education Awareness - SHEA’s Community Baby Shower in Harrison County!

Our team enjoyed connecting with expecting and growing families, meeting Molina members, answering questions, and sharing health and wellness resources to help moms and babies get a healthy start.

Community events like this bring families together with organizations and resources that can support them throughout pregnancy, parenthood and beyond.

One way to prepare is to learn more about the flu vaccine. If you have questions or concerns, you’re not alone. Your health care provider can explain how the vaccine works, what side effects you may have and why getting a flu vaccine each year is recommended.

Use this time before flu season is in full swing to ask questions, share your concerns and get the information you need to make an informed decision about your health.

Young people can face challenges at school, at home and with friends that may feel overwhelming. Having a trusted adult who listens, checks in and takes their feelings seriously can make a difference.

Parents, caregivers and other trusted adults can help by:
• Making time for open, judgment-free conversations
• Paying attention to changes in mood or behavior
• Reminding young people that asking for help is a sign of strength
• Connecting them with support when they need it

This month, take time to check in with the young people in your life. A simple conversation can remind them they are heard, supported and never alone.

On Friday, September 4, Molina Healthcare of Mississippi was excited to be part of the action as West Point Consolidated School District, MS took on Starkville! The energy was high, the stands were packed and Molina-branded footballs flying through the crowd added to the game-day fun.

But the night was about more than football. Events like this give our team an opportunity to connect with families, students, schools and community leaders while showing our continued support for communities across Mississippi.

Do you know what PMOS is? PMOS stands for polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, formerly known as polycystic O***y syndrome or PCOS. It’s a common but often misdiagnosed hormonal condition that affects millions of women.

PMOS is driven by the effects of androgen (a group of hormones in the body) and changes in how your body uses a hormone called insulin, which controls blood sugar. Talk to your doctor if you experience any of the symptoms in this graphic — they may be caused by PMOS.

Although the exact cause of PMOS is still unknown and there is currently no cure, there are ways to manage it.

Through our Hygiene Closet Initiative, we’re helping provide students with personal hygiene products while encouraging healthy habits that support their overall well-being.

We’re proud to partner with Gorenflo Elementary School and the Mississippi Gulf Coast YMCA After School Program to make these essential items more accessible to local students.

By working together, we can help remove everyday barriers and give children the resources they need to focus on learning, growing and thriving.
