Founded in 1951, CFA Society Virginia is an association of investment professionals from around the Commonwealth of Virginia. Consisting of portfolio managers, security analysts, investment advisors, and other financial professionals, we:

promote ethical and professional standards within the investment industry,
encourage professional development through the CFA Program and continuing education,

facilitate the exchange of information and opinions among people within the local investment community and beyond, and;
work to further the public's understanding of the CFA designation and investment industry. As a CFA Institute member society, CFA Society Virginia connects members to a global network of investment professionals.

CFA Society Virginia Stock Pitch Competition 2026

Join us for our 3rd CFA Society Virginia Stock Pitch Competition as we welcome teams from six Virginia universities to the competition.
The competition has many of the same foundations as the CFA Research Challenge, but we allow teams to choose their own company and we are emphasizing the in-person presentation more than the written report. Each presentation will consist of an 8-minute presentation and 3 minutes of Q&A.

We have 9 teams participating this year from Christopher Newport University, Hampden-Sydney College, James Madison University, University of Richmond, University of Virginia, and Virginia Commonwealth University.

The presentations will be followed by a reception and presentation of the results.
