In February of 1877, a group of local citizens formed The Patrons and Farmers Home Protection Company of Ray County. The need arose due to national stock companies being unwilling to offer insurance in the rural areas. In 1901, the Company was re-incorporated as Farmers Home Insurance Company of Ray County. Since that time, Farmers Home Insurance Company of Ray County has grown to serve the entire
