If you do the self check out at Costco, the person standing at the door checking receipts looks harder at your receipt to make sure you scanned everything. My guess is that people not using the "free" IRS system will face higher scrutiny of their taxes.

There is a whole sector of people doing taxes as a side hustle that are not qualified to prepare a tax return, much less defend an audit. With 80,000+ more IRS employees out there, IRS audit activity is already picking up. If everything that is needed to file your tax return correctly is already with the IRS, I think this is a great option. Remember, only CPA's Enrolled Agents, and Lawyers are licensed to practice before the IRS. Only use one of these professionals if you don't use the IRS free service.
