Last week we solidified an appointment with a new market writing restoration businesses. The carrier offers an environmental package writing GL/Pollution/Professional, Excess Liability, Autos, and Workers Comp. They offer coverage in most States and multistate operations are okay. Pricing on the workers comp and autos specifically are where the cost savings are significant. I'm always working and available to help those in the environmental and fire/water restoration industry and offer solutions that others cannot, that's what I do.

General Liability with Pollution combined policies-how much do they vary from carrier to carrier-I've had many conversations with clients about this topic recently, so putting out some informative insight.

The combined form GL & Pollution policy you have is much different than what you find in the admitted market (standard Commercial General Liability). Admitted carriers use standardized ISO form language and as such, these policies all read almost identical, with the same language, coverage forms, and exclusions.

The non-admitted carriers who write your GL/CPL (contractor's pollution) policy- they do not adhere to the same standardization. As a result, the coverage form language, the definitions (ie. what is a pollutant), exclusions and limitations on coverage regarding certain business operations all vary a great deal among the carriers who offer these policies.

Many times, I'm the one going into detail and explaining these differences to my own clients- because they deserve to be told and informed of how these differences affect their business. It's extremely rare that in insured tells me their agent went over these differences and explained what the exclusion or sublimit actually meant regarding their policy coverage.

Knowledge is power. The more knowledgeable your agent is, the more knowledgeable you are. You deserve to know exactly what you are buying, not just with insurance, with everything.

It's been too long since I've shared my latest update for 2024. The theme this year has been our amazing new market for writing commercial autos in CA, AZ, and NV. This new program, built specifically for fire/water restoration and other environmental contractors has now netted my own clients a $2.6MM cost savings.
To break that down, this program is offering an average savings of about 20-25% over the client's current auto coverage premium-that's up against all other major carriers writing commercial auto in these states. I'm here to help anyone who is feeling this pain in a market that unfortunately isn't showing signs of getting better anytime soon. You can call, DM, or email me anytime to find out what this program can do for you and your business.

How bad is commercial auto insurance in California? It's really bad, and I see no indications of it improving anytime soon. Fewer and fewer companies are offering coverage and those still writing auto insurance are doing it with huge renewal premium increases. Luckily, I have an auto insurance market that almost no other agent has access to. The auto program is new, the carrier writing it is not.
Ask yourself do you need/want relief? If you do, I am one phone call or email away and I will get you relief. Class of business for eligibility is: fire/water restoration, hazmat cleanup/hauling, asbestos & lead abatement, and remediation contractors. Fleet size 5-50 vehicles (light, medium, heavies are ok). Coverage is currently also available in Arizona and Nevada.

Our brand-new commercial auto program for Environmental Contractors in CA, AZ, and NV in just 4 weeks has netted a $1.3MM savings in premium among the happiest 33 clients. You know how carriers establish filed rates with the State? It based on the carriers loss history. This carrier has no tail, no loss history because its brand new! I feel obligated to share this news as many business owners don't know this exists. Reach out to me if you'd like to have your cake and eat it too (much better pricing that anyone else can offer and the most comprehensive coverage possible).

We just had another huge win for an abatement & water restoration business owner in California! 22 vehicle fleet that was being non-renewed.. previous total premium was $99,000, re-wrote coverage for 22 units at $61,600! If you feel like you can benefit from this new auto program, reach out to me sooner than later.
This auto program is currently available to environmental contractors of all types located in CA, AZ, and NV. More States to be added throughout the year.

We have been having HUGE success with our new commercial auto offering for California, Nevada, and Arizona. These rates are what we saw back in 2018. To reiterate this is targeting the following classes: fire/water restoration, demolition, and abatement. If you think you are overpaying on autos, you probably are with this new program just released June 24th. Getting a non-renewal or paying $4k+ per vehicle? Do yourself a favor and reach out to me. I'll get you a quick response back on where you're at and what I can do to help.

Happy Friday to all! I've got some very good news to share- We have just secured almost exclusive access to an environmental carrier who will aggressively write commercial auto fleets of 4 or more. This program is only for CA, NV, and AZ. Contractors who would fit include fire/water restoration, asbestos and lead abatement, demo contractors, etc. The carrier is using 2019 rates to write business in 2024 in CA. Needless to say, their current filed rates are too cheap right now and qualified environmental contractors can take advantage for the next 6 months or so. There are only 3 environmental wholesalers in the country who have this today. If you are interested in taking advantage of this program, reach out to me.

Are you struggling with the stiff premium hikes for your commercial auto coverage? Are you facing a non-renewal notice? If you are, there is some good news: In the past 6 months we've added 6 new auto markets. You shouldn't settle for anything less than the best available rates- even though your agent isn't able to access these markets. Ie. having your fleet insured with Progressive is probably indicative of the lack of markets your broker has. If you're feeling pain with autos, reach out as I'm always here to offer a better solution. Thats what I do!

Some food for thought for California Environmental contractors...I see so many businesses who have their workers comp with State Fund/SCIF. Many of these businesses have had their coverage thru SCIF for 10+ years and its obvious they are not being provided options. Usually, I find out it's because the agent has no markets for them! SCIF is great in the fact they have to offer coverage for your business. What's not great is the high base rates they offer for classes like asbestos abatement- 5473, janitorial-9008, carpentry, roofing and more. For example, you have $500k of payroll in 5473. The cost difference in premium vs another carrier could be as much as $25-50k annually-that's a lot of extra expense. There is one other reason why I see agents intentionally keep clients with SCIF, and it's out of pure greed-not having your best interests in mind, that's for certain. Something for you to think about here. If you are a C21, C22, B license restoration contractor in the State of California, check this and know that not all agents are equal in their market capacity and options they are able to offer to their client. Of course, most other agents aren't also wholesalers like myself, so I wouldn't expect them to have the market breadth that I have.
