40 years of recovery. 40 years of hope. 40 years of changing lives. 💚

Today, Great Basin Federal Credit Union was honored to join our friends at STEP2 as they celebrated an incredible 40 years of empowering women, strengthening families, and breaking generational cycles in Northern Nevada! 🎉

Since 1986, STEP2 has provided women and their families with the support, resources, treatment, and encouragement needed to build a foundation for lasting recovery and brighter futures. Four decades of this work represents thousands of lives touched—and an immeasurable ripple effect throughout our community.

We were also happy to run into Kaycee from Texas Roadhouse, another wonderful community supporter who helped provide food for today’s celebration! And the support doesn’t stop there. 🙌

Our community has been hit hard by wildfires in recent months, including the recent Hawk Fire. We understand the ripple effect these events can have on our members and neighbors, and our hearts are with everyone affected.

To help support displaced families, affected properties, and our first responders and volunteers working to keep us safe, we've partnered with the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada to raise money for their Northern Nevada Wildfire Relief Fund. Donations will be collected at all four Great Basin branches throughout September.

Donations of $5 or more can leave a message of encouragement for those providing support for our area.

We're grateful to share that all Great Basin branches will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26.😁

Our North Valleys and Northwest Reno locations will resume normal operations, including lobby access, drive-through service, and video teller availability.

Thank you to the first responders and emergency personnel who have worked tirelessly throughout the Hawk Fire. And thank you to our members for your patience, kindness, and understanding as we made temporary adjustments to continue serving our community safely.

Our hearts remain with everyone affected by this fire. 💙

As our community continues to navigate the impacts of the Hawk Fire, we're making temporary adjustments to branch operations so we can best support members across our network.

✅ Open with full lobby and drive-up services:
• South Reno Branch
• Los Altos Branch

✅ Drive-up Video Teller & ATM services available:
• North Valleys Branch
• Northwest Reno Branch

Members can also access their accounts anytime through Online Banking, Mobile Banking, ATMs, and our Contact Center.

We know changes to normal operations can be inconvenient, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding. The total is in! Our 2026 Fill the Bus drive was a success, thanks to the support of our community! Because of your contributions and generosity, over 1,000 items were donated to help make sure our local kids are set up for success this coming school year. Thank you!

From backpacks and lunchboxes, to notebooks and pencils, are proud of our partnership with Communities In Schools of Western Nevada and to be able to support the impact they are making across Washoe County!
