🍎 How do you like THEM apples?

Here in Michigan, we know a thing or two about apples — and there’s a whole lot more to this little fruit than c***r and apple pie!

October is National Apple Month. Here’s just a slice of apple facts — did any of these surprise you? 🍏🍎

Happy National Apple Month from your friends at the Rob Pike Agency!

👓 Can your kiddo see the board clearly?
It seems like such a little thing, but being able to see clearly can play a pretty big role in a child’s school day. Reading the board, following along with a lesson, working on a computer, or even just staying focused can be a whole lot harder when things are a little blurry.

Here’s a nice perk for our Michigan Farm Bureau members! ❤️

Members can receive $50 off glasses or contacts when spending $150 or more at MyEyeDr.

And here’s something you may not know — you don’t have to have a Farm Bureau insurance policy to be a Farm Bureau member!

Farm Bureau membership comes with all kinds of extra perks and discounts for things families actually use — travel, health and wellness, shopping, even opportunities for free tickets to select MSU and U of M sporting events. 🏈

Sometimes those little membership perks can really add up!

Want to know more about becoming a Farm Bureau member? Give us a call at 989-868-3114. We’d be happy to tell you about it.

🌱 Bringing Agriculture Into the Classroom! 🌾

We had a pretty special week at Reese Elementary last week!

The Michigan Farm Bureau Science Lab made a stop at the school, giving every K–5 classroom the opportunity to experience agriculture through hands-on science. The Rob Pike Agency was happy to help sponsor the event — and our team member was even luckier because she got to teach the lessons! ❤️

Our youngest students in grades K–2 got their hands a little dirty as they planted seeds and learned how a tiny seed grows and changes on its journey from seed to harvest. 🌱

The 3rd–5th graders took on a completely different question: How can a cow eat hay when we can’t? 🐄 They learned about cattle, their unique digestive systems, and how cows are able to turn something humans can’t digest into food and other products we use every day.
There were lots of questions, lots of discoveries, and plenty of “Ohhhs"

Agriculture is such an important part of our community, and helping kids understand where their food comes from — and just how much agriculture touches their everyday lives — is something we’re very proud to support.

A big thank you to Michigan Farm Bureau and Reese Elementary for giving our local kids such a fun way to learn, explore and experience agriculture firsthand. 🌾🚜🐄🌱

🌾 A Pretty Special Day at MSU 💚🤍

This past Saturday, we had the chance to attend Michigan Farm Bureau’s Ag Day at Michigan State University for the MSU vs. Nebraska game (we won't mention game results). But it was such a fun day celebrating something that means a lot to us — Michigan agriculture.

There was another reason the day was pretty special.
Rob was invited to attend because he is one of the Top 5 Farm Bureau farm agents in the company. And I have to brag on him just a little bit, because that’s something he’s worked really hard for. ❤️

Anyone who knows Rob knows how much he enjoys working with farmers. He loves getting out on the farms, learning about their operations, talking with farm families, and making sure the things they’ve spent generations building are protected.

We’re so thankful for the farmers who have trusted Rob and our agency over the years. We don’t take that trust lightly.

And just in case anyone is wondering... Rob isn’t going anywhere! 😉 He loves what he does and plans to be right here, working with and insuring our farm families for many, many years to come.

It was a great day celebrating Michigan agriculture — and a pretty proud day for the Rob Pike Agency too. 🌾🚜💚
