I asked my sister what a Profit and Loss statement is and her answer was solid

She said profit is "the money you keep" and loss is "the money you lose, duh."

Honestly, fair guess if you're not in the business world. But if you ARE a business owner and your answer sounds the same, we need to talk.

No law mandates time and a half for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any other holiday. 🎄

Holiday pay is 100% at the employer's discretion — a generous benefit, not a legal requirement.

✅ Employers CAN choose to offer holiday pay

✅ It's a great retention tool

✅ But it's not legally required in California

Like you're scared that being real will hurt someone's feelings, or they'll misunderstand you, or judge you?

I'm done.

Done fitting into a mold I didn't even choose. Done pretending life is easy, debt doesn't exist, and that competition is something I believe in. (Spoiler: I don't. Collaboration all the way.)

Here's what I actually believe:

- There is enough business for everyone
- Every person and business has something unique for the right people
- Abundance is real, scarcity is a story we tell ourselves

The people who get it? Those are my people anyway.

So if you're a business owner who's been performing instead of showing up, I'm inviting you to just stop. The mold wasn't even real. We built it ourselves, out of fear, and called it direction.

Be fully you. Be fully real. That's where the right people find you.

My brain literally cannot let things be unbalanced. Occupational hazard of being a bookkeeper.

Work and home. Fun and boring. Salad and chips. Community and heads down time. Rest and hustle.
It doesn't always have to be 50/50. Sometimes it's 60/40, sometimes 80/20. But it always has to balance to 100%.

And honestly? That mindset has made me a better business owner, a better mom, and a better human.
