Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me why I love being involved in our local business community.

We attended our first Inland Port Chamber of Commerce networking breakfast in Lancaster and immediately ran into familiar faces from other Chambers we’ve been involved with over the years. It’s amazing how connected our local business community really is.

One of the highlights of the morning came from a conversation with Team Challenge. I learned they knew one of my bookkeeping clients. It is a business owner I’ve had the privilege of helping through some difficult challenges as he worked to get his business back on solid footing. Being able to share how far he’s come and see others celebrate his success was incredibly rewarding. Moments like that remind me that bookkeeping isn’t just about numbers. It’s about helping business owners build something they’re proud of.

From there, we headed to Ennis to celebrate the ribbon cutting for Runnin’ Free Ranch with members of several local Chambers. As someone who has a heart for horses and the therapeutic benefits they bring, it warmed my heart to see the community come out to support this amazing charity.

Days like yesterday are why I value Chamber involvement so much. Every event is an opportunity to learn, encourage fellow business owners, strengthen relationships, and support the communities we call home.

I’m grateful to be part of such a welcoming and connected business community.

Great lunch hosted by Ferris Chamber of Commerce learning about Mentors Care. Love meeting people in the communities we serve. We ran into this friendly face. Always a great laugh or two when we get to catch up.

Mark and I got to buddy with the Miracle League of Ellis County Saturday. We normally are coaching for the league but our fields were too wet so we got to step into the buddy role. We met Mia. Her smile says it all. Her mom told me it was the first time she had hit the ball without the tee and she did it twice!! We got to hug and cheer for Andrew too. He was the first Miracle my son got to buddy with 10 years ago at Miracle League of Arlington and has become a dear friend through baseball and horseback riding.
Come join us this Saturday for our last game of the season! We would love to introduce you to our Miracles! Games are at the Optimist Field at 10:00, 10:30, 11:00 and 12:00.

Had an incredible time at Effective Living LLC’s Life Management Workshop! Ricardo is an amazing speaker who left us with powerful takeaways and fresh motivation to keep learning and growing. Grateful for the new connections made—and for my friend Amy Tucker with Lonestar Backyards & Buildings for joining me! We made a day of it and networked all over town.
