Musical Acts of Kindness Society

Musical Acts of Kindness Society Through the power of music, our organization seeks to enrich lives by fostering kindness and hope and by creating financial support in our community.

Our group seeks to bring good will through music to our community here in Berks County. We seek to provide opportunities and outlets for passionate local musicians to express and share their creativity and talent with a wider audience while using these passions to improve the lives of our fellow citizens. Ways in which we seek to fulfill this mission include a "Spotlight Concert Series" and our “P

hilanthrops.” Through our “Spotlight Concert Series,” we aim to organize three to four benefit concerts per year that will spotlight and raise money for small charitable organizations in the county. Whereas these events will be expansive projects, our “Philanthrops” program seeks instead to focus on smaller lightweight projects involving musicians who spread good will through music by performing for those in need or who would otherwise appreciate a kind musical gesture (the sick, the homeless, the elderly, etc…). If you are interested in joining us in our mission, or otherwise have any ideas or input regarding how we can improve our community through music, please do not hesitate to contact us!

"The point is, art never stopped a war and never got anybody a job. That was never its function. Art cannot change events. But it can change people. It can affect people so that they are changed...because people are changed by art - enriched, ennobled, encouraged - they then act in a way that may affect the course of events...by the way they vote, they behave, the way they think." -Leonard (John Gruen interview in Los Angeles Times, December 31, 1972)
