Saw a great article about BlackRock titled, "Paycheck for life? New guaranteed income offering may be a 'gamechanger' for 401(k)s

If you have enough guaranteed lifetime income from sources like BlackRock's LifePath Paycheck or a pension, smile and say, "Okay, I have a paycheck, but what else do I need for retirement? I need a guaranteed Playcheck!"

Think about this: on what day of the week do you spend the most money right now? What day of the week do you go golfing, go to Home Depot, go to the spa, or go shopping? For most of us, that day would be Saturday, and remember, when you retire, ever single day is Saturday!

Many clients I see are not going to need less money once they retire; they are in fact going to need more money. So I would say that you do not need just a guaranteed paycheck but a guaranteed playcheck as well.

Asset manager BlackRock has launched LifePath Paycheck, which gives employees access to guaranteed income through a target date fund, allowing DC plans to switch some of an enrollee's investments into an annuity at age 55.
