Yesterday, I was speaking with a financial advisor about my work helping couples navigate divorce.

They asked, “Isn’t that depressing?”

And yes—if you’re in a stable, loving marriage, divorce might seem like a kind of death. It is the end of a shared life.

But for those in unhealthy or abusive relationships, it can be something entirely different.

It’s not just an ending—it’s a beginning.
