Hey sweet Contractor Caring for Kids friends and Board Members,

I have some really exciting news! As you know after my book came out last year I started doing several speaking events - one which took me all over Europe during last year’s holiday season. Sadly, for the first time in 20 years, we had to skip CCK. I continue to be busy with speaking engagements and it’s clear to me that my days of running this wonderful event are behind me. But, here’s the exciting news…

The Sacramento Builder’s Exchange has agreed to take over Contractors Caring for Kids and continue our great tradition of supporting local children in need. As some of you may remember, the SBE was extremely helpful in the beginning and was instrumental in getting our charity off the ground back in 1995. They’ve supported us every year and they’ve agreed to pick up Contractors Caring for Kids. We will do the event this year on Saturday, Dec. 16th at their NEW facility. They will keep many of our traditions like running the event with volunteers. CFMA (one of our biggest supporters) is on board as well. :)

I sincerely hope you are as excited about this news as I am. Honestly, it is an answer to prayer for John and I. I’ve known for a couple of years that our time managing this wonderful charity has come to an end, but like you, we LOVE it so much. It seemed impossible to let think of just letting it go. Now, thanks to the SBE, it doesn’t have to end. Contractors Caring for Kids can not only continue to help those in need in our community, but it can GROW and touch even more lives. I honestly believe the SBE can take us to the next level.

Thank you SO much for the many, many years of service and dedication. I’ll be sending you new information about what’s next and I hope to see you all this December!

Hi sweet friends! This is Michele Zumwalt and I wanted to let you know that we are taking a little hiatus this year from our annual December Toy Drive and Fundraising event. I will be out of the country on a book signing and speaking tour Nov-Dec. I wanted to say thank you SO much for 20 YEARS of raising money and toys for local children in need! We hope you have a wonderful holiday season ahead! We pray that each of you would be blessed beyond measure as you have done so much for our community! We LOVE you! John and Michele Zumwalt

The totals are still coming in from the 20th Annual Contractors Caring for Kids Toy Drive and Fundraiser, but so far we have deposited $24,003.75 and we've distributed TONS of toys this year! (LOTS of bikes) What a GREAT year! Thank you EVERYONE!!! What a GOOD difference you've made in the lives of local children in need! We LOVE you!

Thank you EVERYONE for making our 20th Annual Event SO AWESOME! Tons of TOYS and money still coming in (seriously, could you believe all the bikes? 100s of bikes!)...I'll post totals in the coming days, but I wanted to say how much I LOVE and appreciate all of you! Great job sweet friends....YOU ROCK!

Quality problems like THIS: We can't possible fit ALL these bicycles, scooters, helmets and toys just from ONE company (thank you Intech Mechanical) into our trailers! It's going to be a GOOD year for the Contractors Caring for Kids 20th Annual Toy Drive & Fundraiser!
