Fraud is still a real thing in our world. Most recently we have come across 2 situations, including one where someone tried to submit fake income docs and even used fake phone numbers for an employer. Occupancy fraud is still another big one we are seeing.
I am sharing this because it is not worth risking a loan buyback, an audit issue, or your license. Slow down, pay attention, verify everything, and trust your gut when something feels off.
We work too hard and have too much to lose by cutting corners.
