Many observers of the housing market believe that the mortgage rates will remain about the same (2%) during 2021 due to the Federal Reserve using low rates as a tool to combat the economic effects of the pandemic. This makes 2021 a good time to purchase or refinance a home by taking advantage of the low margate rates.

The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller price index shows that home prices in the 20 largest cities have risen at a 7.9% yearly pace in October. One of the biggest factors for the rising price of homes has been the short supply of homes due to the pandemic.

The cities that saw the biggest price rise were the following:

Phoenix - 12.7%
Seattle - 11.7%
San Diego - 11.6%

Kaety has been in the title industry for over ten years and loves seeing and being a part of the growth at Tryon Title! She now serves in the role of Vice President of Title Operations.

She’s been married to Kenny for seven years and in December 2015 they had their first child, a son, Charlie. They live in Pittsboro, North Carolina, but are hoping to relocate soon! 2021 housing market predictions:

Zillow has released its predictions for the housing market in 2021. In summary, Zillow is expecting the housing market to be strong across the board and be unlike any other.

Zillow's predictions in more detail:

-Home sales growth will be biggest since the ‘80s.

-Demand for city living will surge in 2021.

-Buyers will have a harder time affording homes, especially their first one.

-Addressing housing vulnerability will be a top priority as rent prices rise.

-Moving will be a digital-first experience.

Eric grew up in Bethlehem, PA., and after graduating from college, he moved to Raleigh in 1996 with his wife, Sherry, to enjoy all the Triangle area has to offer. They have a beautiful set of triplet girls – Kayla, Brooklynn, and Taylor – that keeps them always on the go.

Eric has been involved in the real estate industry since 1997 when he obtained his first job as a real estate paralegal at a small law firm in Cary. He obtained his title license in 2005 and promptly opened his own title agency in Raleigh. He then obtained his real estate broker’s license in 2006. Prior to his employment at Tryon Title, he was a software trainer at SoftPro for eight years.
