If your child is eligible for their drivers license and you are planning to add them to your policy in the next year or so, you should do so before July 1st, 2025. After that time, inexperienced operators will no longer be rated for just 3 years, they will remain under the inexperienced operator surcharge until they hit the 8 years of experience mark.
