We are enjoying some travelling having been to see friends in Alabama, Georgia and Philadelphia and headed to upstate NY in September along with Ct. We are still awaiting the opening up of Japan so we can visit our son James who is contractor with the US Army in Okinawa. Will keep you all posted.

Very strange how the FAA has not done their usual excellent job of keeping passengers safe. Maybe not a great time for Boeing stock.

The U.S. Transportation Department began an investigation of how Boeing Co.’s 737 Max was certified to fly passengers before the latest crash in Ethiopia involving the new jet, according to a person familiar with the probe.

It looks like the Fed is going to sit on the sidelines. Hopefully the rest of the markets are going to be quiet. There is no question that there will be a slowdown in the markets in the next couple years. No partial shutdown of the govt. this time.

Equities surged as the U.S. consumer outlook brightened and positive developments in China trade talks overshadowed lingering concerns about global growth. Treasury yields climbed, while the dollar pared gains after an early-morning rally.

Long time no posts. Just wanted to let everyone know that the conforming loan amount maximums have been increased to $484,350. With the value of real estate increasing in the Raleigh, Durham area this is welcome news.

North Carolina really needs to improve funding for our schools and kick out the Koch brothers from running our state. Look at the textbooks that our students have-they are ancient. That is if they even have textbooks.

WE may see more pressure on interest rates for borrowers going forward. There are so many variables in the market right now, so rates right now are probably the best they are going to be over the next 12 months or so.

Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco President John Williams said he’s “very positive” about the economic outlook both in the U.S. and abroad and reiterated that he views three to four interest-rate increases this year as appropriate.
