Did you know that money and mental health are deeply connected?

If you have ever felt anxious checking your bank account, guilty spending money on yourself, or overwhelmed about your future, there is a reason.

When money feels stable, you feel safe, in control, and hopeful.
When it does not, it can create anxiety, stress, self-doubt, and mental exhaustion.

This is not about being bad with money.
It is your mind responding to uncertainty.

Here is the good news:

Your peace does not have to wait until your finances are perfect.
You can start feeling better and doing better at the same time.

Something happens when we gather to pray.. 🙏🏾 💕

When we unite as daughters crying out to God for healing, for understanding, for peace.

In February, God gave me the vision to put together an intimate event where we can come together to fellowship, dive into the word, and pray together.

Two months later I saw that vision come to life, the way God met us right in the middle of prayer left me speechless.

This was too good to be a one & done, so I’m already planning what the next in person event will look like. Be sure to join us 💕

Back to the basics. 💰

When I first started my journey, I only carried around cash envelopes because it helped me stay on budget. I knew once the money for that specific envelope was gone I was done until my next pay period.

I also had jars that I stuffed with cash to put into my savings account at the end of the year. Each year I was surprised by how successful that simple strategy was for me.

I’m not sure why but cash is much easier for me to save. When things are out of sight they are out of mind.

It’s inconvenient to have money tucked away in a binder at home when I’m out shopping, and inconvenient money gets saved every time!!

What are some ways you like to trick yourself into saving money?

Our ability to do life, family, business, & ministry together is my favorite thing about our marriage.

This year will make 10 years we have been together & our 5th year of marriage. We truly are best friends!

We never stop laughing & growing together.

Over the last month or so we began serving in a new capacity at church with our production team. It’s been so fresh & fun.

I’ve witnessed my husband light up & so great pride in owning his lane. That alone just makes my heart smile.

Many people don’t get to experience him open up, he’s normally reserved and to himself but through serving and finding what he enjoys doing he’s blossoming so much.

🎉💕👏🏾

Make it exist first, make it “perfect” later.

Sometimes I still gave to remind myself it’s okay to start small & expand as you grow… It’s hard especially when God gives you a vision of what it will look like one day.

Even through that, I’m still so grateful he has placed in countless environments where new gifts are birth and I leave with another tool I can use in my own business / ministry.

Last week was absolutely amazing, stay tuned to see how everything turned out 💕

I’ll be honest… Trusting God with your money is hard 🤷🏾‍♀️

Releasing control is something I struggle with as the oldest sister & the “go to” person for everything.

By default, I’m the project manager for everything and sometimes I like it better that way 🙇🏾‍♀️

Here’s what I learned from being a full time entrepreneur for over a year in the middle of a pandemic while all my clients lost their jobs & every contract I had with companies fell through…

1. God is my only source.

2. Invite God into my numbers, not just my prayers

3. Replace financial fear with truth daily

4. Practice obedience over control

5. Create margin where I can and give myself grace where I can’t

6. Stay rooted in community, not isolation

I discussed this more in depth in this week’s newsletter. Comment “newsletter” if you would like me to send it to you 💕
