Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: Mark Fortier, CFP

Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: Mark Fortier, CFP I began my career as an Edward Jones financial advisor in 1994. I'm a former president of the local Chamber of Commerce.

I've built my practice by partnering with individual investors and business owners, and truly getting to know them, so I can understand what is important to them. I see my relationships with my clients as partnerships that we will build and grow for their entire lives, in order to make sure that they are on track to meet their goals. Because of my focus on partnership, I've succeeded in creating a

practice that has earned us a spot in our firm's list of top 400 financial advisors and have been invited to attend our Managing Partner's Conference for 20 consecutive years. In 2017, I was proud to be recognized by Barron's magazine as one of the nation's top 1,200 advisors. Because of our experience and knowledge of the industry, we most enjoy working with clients who have more complicated financial situations. Multi-generational wealth planning can seem daunting, but it's a task that we gladly accept, and we are honored when families allow us into their lives to help take some of this burden off of their shoulders. I earned my degree in business management from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington and hold the CFP® professional designation. I've also served in multiple leadership roles, and in 2015 was named a Principal with the firm, as I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences with others. When I'm not in the office, I am an active member of the local community: I serve on the boards of the Boys and Girls Club Billfish Tournament and the Eastern North Carolina Alzheimer's Association; I'm also an active member of White Memorial Presbyterian Church. My wife, Julia, and I have three children: Sara Hanna, Ren and Vance. We enjoy spending time at the beach and offshore sportfishing. Edward Jones is a financial – services firm dedicated to serving the needs of individual investors. Member SIPC.

Scam artists have been known to impersonate loved ones, tricking older adults into providing financial information or sending money to an unknown account. Always ask questions that only your loved one can answer or call your family member back at a number that you know to be legitimate.
