Important news for anyone on a Medicare Part D drug plan. 📋
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services just announced that a temporary subsidy that has been keeping Part D drug plan premiums lower will expire at the end of this year.
What does that mean for you? Honestly — it depends. CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz has suggested most monthly premiums will rise by less than $10, with some actually decreasing. Other analysts project that roughly 45% of enrollees could see increases of up to $20 a month.
The bottom line: your drug plan premium is likely changing, and now is the time to make sure you’re on the right plan.
Here’s something worth knowing: many brokers have quietly stopped helping clients with Part D plans altogether — leaving people to navigate this on their own. We think that’s wrong.
At Moss Insurance Group, we still do this work. For a small fee of $45, Steve will review your current drug plan, compare your options, and make sure you’re in the plan that makes the most sense for your medications and your budget.
Last year, we were fully booked by mid-November. If you want a review before Open Enrollment closes December 7th, don’t wait.
