Good morning everyone, hope everyone is having a wonderful summer as now it slowly ekes away and fall begins to meander into our lives,
We are now officially in the race for the mayor's position having turned the needed signatures for our name to be on the ballot for the September 19th, primary, we need to concentrate on continuing our door knocking portion of our campaign.
As you noted if you read the paper there are officially 6 candidates that will be on the ballot. Besides myself, you have a career politician, a pastor, a city council member and two up and coming young individuals who will have a great political career ahead of them., No I am not counting them out, this race could be anybody's once the votes are tallied in September.
There is one position that I can safely say that I have that none of the other 5 candidates can say, and that is that because of my 24 years in law enforcement working all areas of this city interacting with corporate CEO's as well as homeless individuals, plus my community activism for the past 18 years and now for the past 11 years, working for Educators Credit Union providing financial education again in all areas of this community, from businesses, churches, non-profit agencies and even in the correction systems has given me the opportunity to get to know the entire community like the back of my hand.
I can relate to people working in the fields, relate to individuals working in foundries, in the lawn care/snow blowing business because i have worked in those areas, plus I can relate to small business owners, have been or currently on boards which are made up of owners or CEO's of major corporation from the Racine and Kenosha area. And as you can see from the photos below that highlights what I have mentioned above.
So if you are really serious about changing the culture of city hall and bring transparency, seek ways to make city hall more efficient, and be accountable to our taxpayers by having an open door policy, then I would urge you and your friends to consider my desire in becoming Racine's next mayor.
