If you could paint a picture of Texas Friday Night Lights it cant get any better this scene in Quitman, Texas! The entire community of Quitman shows up to cheer on their hometown Bulldogs. You felt the energy in the stadium from the first kickoff to the final play. Quitman took the win 19-6 in the home opener against the Como Pickton Eagles. There are big things in store for Bud Moody Stadium that will make this place even more fun to continue the Texas Friday Night Light tradition. There is one thing for sure. This town, every coach, teacher and administrator love these kids and will do absolutely anything to make their time at QHS a memorable one! We are LOVING seeing our long-term fosters finally finding their forever homes this month! ❤️🏡

And now… IT’S RYDER’S TURN! 🐾😭

Ryder was dumped and left confused and heartbroken last year. He didn’t understand why the people he trusted were gone, but over the last 279 days, we’ve watched that broken heart heal and his amazing personality shine through.

And now, an incredible family has fallen completely in love with him. ❤️

279 DAYS.
279 days of waiting.
279 days of loving him.
279 days of hoping the right family would finally see just how special he is.

Ryder will definitely be missed, but there is no better feeling than watching one of our long-term fosters walk out the door knowing they’ll never be abandoned again.

Go live your BEST life, Ryder! You waited a long time for this one, sweet boy and you deserve every bit of it. 🥹❤️🐾

🚨 BIG NEWS, ROCKIN’ S&S! 🚨

We’re excited to announce that Chowdown is coming to Rockin’ S&S for an upcoming Road Show feature! 🎥🍔 We can’t wait to showcase what we’re all about, highlight some of our favorite dishes, and give everyone a closer look at the food and atmosphere that make Rockin’ S&S special.

We’ve had several people asking, so yes - there WILL be a carnival at Old Settlers this year!

The carnival will be here Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1.

We know those dates are a little different than what everyone is used to, so we want to explain why. Friday is a school day and we also have a home football game that night. Old Settlers had to make a $20,000 commitment to guarantee the carnival, and with that kind of money on the line, we felt like Saturday and Sunday gave us the best chance for families to actually be able to come out and enjoy it.

For years we’ve heard people say that they wanted the carnival back. We heard you, and this year we took the chance and brought it back.

Now we really need everyone to support it.

If we want to continue having a carnival at Old Settlers in the years to come, we have to show that our community will come out for it. Bring the kids, bring your friends, ride some rides, eat some carnival food and spend some time at Old Settlers. That’s really what this is all about.

Wristbands will be available. We don’t have the final price yet, but we expect them to be somewhere around $25-$30. We’ll post that information as soon as everything is finalized.

And we also need to give a big thank you to everyone involved with Tour De Pines. Whether you rode, volunteered, sponsored or donated, THANK YOU. The money raised is helping make this year’s Old Settlers possible.

We took a pretty big leap bringing the carnival back this year. Now we need Wood County to come out and show us you want it to stay.
