If you live in Queen Creek, you’ve probably already heard this…
Torchy’s Tacos at the Marketplace is officially closing.
Their last day is February 3rd.
This one’s on Ellsworth Loop, right by Target, Harkins, Trader Joe’s… one of the busiest pockets in town.
It’s only been open a little over three years, so yeah… this one surprised a lot of people.
And honestly… I know some of you are bummed.
Torchy’s had its people. Breakfast tacos, queso, late-night cravings… it became part of the rotation for a lot of locals.
According to the company, this wasn’t just a Queen Creek thing.
They’re closing multiple locations across the country, including another Phoenix store that shut down recently.
So this feels more like a corporate reset than anything about our town.
They’re still keeping their Gilbert location open over by SanTan Village, so if you’re loyal to the queso… you’ve still got a spot.
But here’s the part that actually matters to us locally…
That Torchy’s space is 4,400+ square feet, stand-alone, with a patio, in one of the strongest shopping centers in the East Valley.
That means something new will move in.
Probably fast.
And possibly something even more aligned with what Queen Creek is becoming.
This stuff is part of growth.
Not every brand sticks, even in good locations.
What matters is what comes next.
So now I’m curious…
What would you want to see go into that space?
Another restaurant?
Something local?
A totally different concept?
Drop it in the comments… because I promise, this won’t sit empty for long.
