Support your local businesses more than ever!

"We're from the government and we're here to help" this is one of the scariest sentences ever spoken... yesterday our president announced we will be importing 300,000 metric tons of tariff free beef to "help" our farmers and ranchers rebuild our herds. This will have the opposite effect on most of us, lower prices will mean we need to sell more animals to pay for our ever rising operating costs.

This weekend I am taking time to campout with our son and I feel guilty, doesn't our family deserve the same opportunity as other American families? We seldom take time away from the farm and knowing we likely have an income decrease coming means we have to make more hard choices.

We've spent the last 7 years building our herd with integrity. We are using the best genetics available, improving our farming practices and hopefully building something for the next generation!

I'm not sure this is what is best for them tho?

How can you help? Please continue to support small farms like us, there are plenty of choices in our area and we are all feeling the pressure! Buying small and local helps us continue to support other small local businesses as well! We want everyone to be successful!

I love YNAB! While I have no affiliation with them, their book, app and philosophy is definitely a gamechanger for those both new to budgeting or the well-seasoned professionals.

Don't make the mistake of thinking you need to have everything together and fixed before you work with a financial advisor! That is like waiting until you feel better to go to the doctor, it just doesn't make sense
