Support your local businesses more than ever!

"We're from the government and we're here to help" this is one of the scariest sentences ever spoken... yesterday our president announced we will be importing 300,000 metric tons of tariff free beef to "help" our farmers and ranchers rebuild our herds. This will have the opposite effect on most of us, lower prices will mean we need to sell more animals to pay for our ever rising operating costs.

This weekend I am taking time to campout with our son and I feel guilty, doesn't our family deserve the same opportunity as other American families? We seldom take time away from the farm and knowing we likely have an income decrease coming means we have to make more hard choices.

We've spent the last 7 years building our herd with integrity. We are using the best genetics available, improving our farming practices and hopefully building something for the next generation!

I'm not sure this is what is best for them tho?

How can you help? Please continue to support small farms like us, there are plenty of choices in our area and we are all feeling the pressure! Buying small and local helps us continue to support other small local businesses as well! We want everyone to be successful!

Rant over. Thanks for all the support from our community!

I love YNAB! While I have no affiliation with them, their book, app and philosophy is definitely a gamechanger for those both new to budgeting or the well-seasoned professionals.

Keep an eye out in the near future for upcoming free classes hosted by yours truly...

Another YNABer net worth success story! This Redditor posted about their 9 month journey from debt to savings. 👏

"9 months ago I found myself so so stressed about money and embarrassed that I got myself into debt. As a random comment, my friend told me about this budget app her boyfriend uses.

YNAB has whole-heartedly changed my life. It really help me see where my money was going and where it COULD go if I was more careful with spending.

Anyways, here is me going from debt to savings in 9 short months and learning how to be a lot more transparent and open about money with others and especially myself.

I don't know how to say thank you enough, YNAB. You taught me such valuable lessons about money management that I will be taking with me my whole life."

Have you heard? Trump accounts are now live and any children born in the US between 2025-2028 are eligible to receive a free $1000 contribution from the US Treasury.

Like not taking advantage of your employer's full 401k/IRA match, not setting this up for your child is just leaving free money on the table!

Don't make the mistake of thinking you need to have everything together and fixed before you work with a financial advisor! That is like waiting until you feel better to go to the doctor, it just doesn't make sense

This might be controversial, but it needs to be said:
gofundme is not life insurance or an adequate replacement for it.

Obviously, no amount of money will ever replace a life. However, a proper term life insurance policy will be able to provide the income that your family relies on for a minimal monthly premium. The last thing that your loved ones should need to worry about in their time of grieving is whether they will be able to make their mortgage payment, rent payment etc.

Life insurance offers you a guaranteed, tax-free benefit that must be paid in a timely manner. No crowdfunding service can do this for you.

Primerica is covering over 5.5 million lives at this very moment and paid out an incredible $1.8 billion in death benefits in 2024, nearly $5 million every single day. What says even more about this company is that 92% of these benefits were paid within only 14 days after receiving the claim.
