PSA: To Anyone who has Citizens Property & Casualty as your home insurance carrier.

Effective 04/01/2023 for all new policies and 07/01/2023 for renewals, if your home/condo/mobile home is insured with Citizens Property & Casualty with wind included on your policy and you are in a SFHA (special flood zone hazard area) as defined by NFIP (e.g. Zones A, AO, AH, A1-A30, AE, A99,V, V1-V30, VE) you MUST maintain a flood policy. This is NON negotiable per Citizens new guidelines, regardless if you have a mortgage on your home or not.

The flood policy must be in effect within 30 days of the policy effective date. In the event you are not able to obtain flood coverage OR you choose not to, your policy WILL be non-renewed.
