There's still time to join some of the safety webinars this week! Farm safety is a major topic area for everyone on an ag operation regardless of age. It only takes a second for accidents to happen. Be prepared and aware ahead of time to limit those risks.

Every September, AgriSafe partners with organizations across the country to raise awareness about the safety and health of those working in agriculture. This year, National Farm Safety & Health Week is September 22-26. Each day of the week has a different theme, accompanied by two free, hour-long webinars at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. MST, respectively. A few of the themes include equipment and rural roadway safety, confined spaces, and ATV/UTV.

Agriculture remains one of the most hazardous industries in the United States, but knowledge and prevention can save lives. To watch one of AgriSafe’s free webinars, go to www.agrisafe.org/nfshw.

This past weekend we had a great conversation about landowner wildfire preparedness and mitigation. We truly appreciate the support of Beulah Fire Protection and Ambulance District, Pueblo West Fire Department and Red Creek Fire Department coming to share their knowledge and expertise with us. We also would like to thank Milberger Farms at Peppe's for the delicious food and CSU Extension Pueblo County Ag and Range for co-hosting this event with us at Soda Creek Ranch. Thank you to everyone who came out and we look forward to seeing you all at future events!

In an alert from the NCBA (National Cattlemen's Beef Association), New World Screwworm is moving northward from South and Central America into southern Mexico. While there are no cases currently reported in the U.S., this is certainly something to look out for.
