I want to speak a little truth this week.
Real estate is hard. Lending is hard.
Even after 11 years and helping hundreds of people with their financing, sometimes I don’t know things & I am still learning.
Transactions today are hard because the people that can sometimes barely qualify, have the opportunity to buy right now with little to no competition. One small change, and we are holding things together by a thread.
If you feel like you don’t qualify, this market may be one of the only opportunities you have to get your closing costs covered and inspection items covered.
Short sales and foreclosures make up most of my business right now, adding more complexities to every transaction.
This year, I’ve been so thankful for my business growth.
I’ve also sat back and reflected.
I am professional.
I am kind.
I am humble.
I am a problem solver.
I am caring.
I am respectful.
I am human.
You don’t choose this career if you don’t actually have a passion for it. Why?
Because it’s hard.
Because you have to be available 24/7.
Because you are the point of contact for 40+ people at a time.
Because your realtors depend on you to support their families.
Because your clients depend on you to protect their money.
Because your team depends on you to keep them employed.
I am happy with who I am as a person and what I bring to the table as a lender.
Every once in awhile, we have to face people that are not kind. For the first time in awhile, I’ve given myself permission to walk away gracefully. Because it’s not about the money, it’s about building a business with people that trust me.
Sure, I want to be the best, but what I really want is to be happy.
So if you’re a real estate professional, I see you. You’re doing the best you can.
If you’re my past client, thank you for trusting me.
