Is your plan to dominate the world working? We are almost at the end of he first month in 2016. Time to review those life/business plans that we all made to start the new year.

When I looked at my business plan and marketing strategy earlier this month it occurred to me, is this useless piece of paper really going to bring me to the next level this year? I mean, all it says is do more of what I did last year and do it better. Sure, it says to add a little of this, and add a little of that, but everyone is already doing those things.

Check this quote from Mark Cuban.

“Wherever I see people doing something the way its always been done, ‘supposed’ to be done, that’s a red flag to me to go look somewhere else”

Shouldn't it be a red flag if we are approaching 2016 the same way we approached 2015, with the age-old promise that this year we will do it better?

Nah. Not me. If you want people to notice, you have to shock them. That includes ourselves.

Try something new in 2016. Don't like the ways things are, or how they are going? Then shock yourself. Come up with something totally new. If it sounds ridiculous, then there's a good chance that you're on to something.

Learn from the past, but make your own future from it. Make 2016 the year that your refuse to rely solely on conventional wisdom, and do something ridiculous. I promise that you'll grow more from that ridiculous choice than you will from the boring plan that says "do the same thing, but betta"....
