Providence United is an initiative take on by 3 determined young men that wanted to change the mental state of the youth in the city of Providence and its surround area. Our foundational belief is that on the wealth of basketball talent in Providence is comparable with most inner cities in America, if not even better. However, the lack of academic support and talent development with the youth is n
ot as strong as with other cities. So Providence United organization envisions a place where these children can convene to get help with both sports, academics, and personal development. The goal is to have both girls and boys team at all age levels; starting from 8-18 year old. Along with offering the youth a place to develop their talents, the children will also be asked to serve their community through community outreach programs. It is very critical that the organization establish a tradition of excellence that will become the standard rather than the exception. Even though we currently are start from a modest begin, we choose to dream of something bigger than most are current able to see. We want to accomplish some things that we don’t consider to be a big dream. One of the mean one is that we want to have an office outside of the basketball arena, an office space for the youth to meet with the staff anytime they need help.
