If you give to charity, 2026 brought on new deduction rules that are worth the Fiduciary look 👀
What happened: the U.S. stock market has notched all-time highs, making this agreat year to consider using appreciated stocks and mutual funds to fund charitable giving...
Here’s where it matters to you:
✅ Itemizers can now deduct gifts only above 0.5% of their AGI.
✅ For taxpayers in the 37% bracket, the value of the deduction is capped at 35%.
✅ Non-itemizers can deduct up to $1,000 (single) and $2,000 (married filing jointly).
✅ Appreciated stock can stil be given without triggering capital gains tax on the gain.
Here’s how you can be strategic: A donor-advised fund ("DAF") lets you combine those pieces by contributing in a high-income or high-tax year. You can take the deduction now and recommend grants to the charities you care about over time.
At YDF WEALTH, we believe that generosity should be given from legacy, not be rushed by current headlines. That’s why we know the codes and help you plan strategically.
Think of it like this: you’re in control but have a fiduciary in your corner giving you tax-smart financial planning advice backed by knowledge and experience.
