🎉✨ Seven years ago today, I took a leap of faith and embraced my journey as a loan officer, stepping out on my own to build something meaningful.
At that time, my wife and I had just closed on our first home, and we were filled with excitement as we learned we were expecting our daughter, Harper. Little did we know, she was going to be high-risk, and my wife had to stop working during her pregnancy. The pressure was on, and I was both nervous and excited.
Having spent over six years as a Rescue Swimmer, I didn’t have a strong network in Prescott or Arizona. My first year was a steep uphill battle. I drove over three hours round trip to open houses in outside of Phoenix, pouring my heart into calls, texts, and videos to connect with anyone I could. Every night, I came home exhausted and defeated.
In my quest for success, I tried to mold myself into what I thought a “successful” loan officer should be. But that approach only left me feeling drained and unfulfilled.
Then came my “f* #* it” moment. I realized I needed to stop hiding behind a façade. At 26, I was insecure about my age, the son of an addict, a single dad going through a custody battle, a veteran without a college degree, and yes, I have tattoos and a potty mouth. I didn’t fit the traditional mold of a loan officer, but guess what? There’s no one-size-fits-all in this business!
Since launching under my own license in 2018, I’ve experienced failures and victories, growth and loss, all while surrounded by an incredible team and supportive friends. I’m proud to say that my team has ranked in the top 1% of mortgage loan originators in the country every year since 2020, helping over 550 families finance their dream homes across Arizona and California.
To everyone who has referred me, worked with me, believed in me, or even doubted me—thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🙏
Here’s to seven years strong, with so much more ahead! 💪🏡✨
