No legitimate bank, government agency, or company will ever ask you to move your money to “protect” it.

If you get a call, text, or email claiming your account is compromised and telling you to transfer funds, wire money, or buy gift cards to keep it safe, hang up. Call us directly using the official number on the back of your card or on your statement. Our team can check your account and help make sure everything is safe.

National Savings Day is a good time to think about the months ahead.

Holiday spending, winter bills, travel, and surprise expenses can stack up quickly. Setting aside a little at a time can give you more breathing room when they do.

A Savings Account can help you build that cushion at your own pace.

The best time to build credit is before there’s something riding on it.

That usually means sticking with a few simple habits long before you’re applying for a car, an apartment, or a home.

Pay bills on time. Keep balances manageable. Check your credit reports for mistakes.
Small things, done consistently, can make a real difference over time.

We pulled together five habits that can help establish credit, plus three common missteps worth avoiding.

The 2027–28 FAFSA is open. A few things to know before you start:

▪️ Students and required contributors, such as a parent or spouse, each need their own StudentAid.gov account.
▪️ You don’t need to wait for 2026 taxes. The 2027–28 FAFSA uses 2025 tax information.
▪️ Don’t wait for the federal deadline. State and school deadlines may come much earlier, and some aid is limited.

Start at StudentAid.gov for the latest requirements, deadlines, and updates.

Big plans start with practical steps. ✔️

There are a lot of days that start with a stop at the local coffee shop. ☕️

It might be the first cup before heading into work, a table claimed for an afternoon of studying, or the place you finally sit down with a friend you’ve been meaning to catch up with for months.

And yes, sometimes it’s an evening coffee because the day still has a few hours left. 😉

On National Coffee Day, we’re raising our mugs to the local coffee shops that keep our community caffeinated and give us a place to spend a little time together.

What’s your go-to coffee order? Let us know below!

A good bank knows more than your numbers. It knows the place you call home.

That has shaped the way we've grown from the beginning. Our banks are led by people who live in the communities they serve. By people who understand the local businesses, the families, and the opportunities that make each place different.

Being family-owned helps us hold onto that.

That local understanding helps us make better decisions, build stronger relationships, and support each community in the ways that matter most there.

That's the way banking should be.

Fall has officially arrived! 🍂

Our version of the season comes with some pretty spectacular views, especially once cooler days settle in and fall color starts making its way across the higher elevations.

These winning photos from our 2027 Calendar Contest capture a few of those scenes worth getting outside for.

We hope you have a wonderful fall and plenty of opportunities to enjoy views like these along the way. 💛

Check fraud tied to mail theft has grown sharply. The FBI and U.S. Postal Inspection Service report that check fraud-related suspicious activity reports nearly doubled from 2021 to 2023.*

If you can securely send money another way, consider it. If a check does need to go in the mail:
▪️ Take it inside the Post Office. Hand it to a postal employee or use an interior mail slot.
▪️ Be careful with collection boxes. If you use a blue USPS box, drop your mail as close to the posted pickup time as possible.
▪️ Don’t leave outgoing checks in your home mailbox overnight.
▪️ Watch for the check to clear. Make sure the amount and payee match what you wrote

If the amount or payee has changed, or you see something you don’t recognize, contact your bank right away.

Safer habits can help lower the risk.
